Early Wall Phones

The APO's convention was that wall phones would receive the odd numbers and table phones the even numbers.

In the late 1930s the numbering system was revised. The surviving old phones were renumbered into the new series and new models were added. There is some overlap, therefore, between the older Tele numbers and the new Type numbers. Where possible I have included the new Type numbers in the body of the text for older phones. An entire series of phones could now be numbered within the one basic Type number. See the 300 Series as an example.
